I am not a geek not a tech savy. But as many other lower middle class members of society I am also forced to live as a netizen. Can't deny it has several positive effects. It reduce those enormous miles between me and my friends, knowledge is in my finger tips, it does add some coal to my not so burning shopaholic desire, it allow me to project and satisfy my egoistic and narcissist persona through different social networking websites. Other than this personal perspective, from a social perspective also cyber space has several positive effects. Like voices are heard and acknowledged by larger audience with in a short time frame.
Along with many positive impacts, rapid expansion of information technology, especially internet results in generating certain evil outcomes. The anonymity, accessibility and opportunities its provide works a safe heaven for predators to sexually exploit victims from a very young age on a global scale with out direct contact. Our kids are not safe even in our sitting rooms or in their own bed rooms.
